Atlanta to get 20-story Ferris wheel from Paris, via Pensacola

peachtreekeen:

Le freak, c’est chic!

This was right across the street from our hotel in April! It was cute, but we didn’t ride it.

PATH Foundation named in Ga. 400 trail, latest of its $55 million projects

The PATH Foundation profiled on Saporta. Really interesting info about a non-profit that’s doing some amazing work.

First time biking to get Groceries. EAV to Kroger Edgewood via Clifton, Hosea Williams, Whitefoord, and Hardee. Pretty challenging for me. I think it was safer than trying to go to the Publix on Glenwood. Made it back with everything intact, but the bread a little smushed. Level up!

(I feel i should clarify that that’s not my fast food cup top by my wheel.)

It’s sad to see local artist Kyle Brooks’ work taken down, stolen, or defaced because his paintings have a joy about them that is wonderful to see throughout the city. I’m glad he handled this with class and dignity, and I love both the original and re-worked Pie signs. Keep doing what you do, Kyle. A lot of people in the community appreciate it.

Toured the unfinished Southwest BeltLine corridor with Angel this morning. Really beautiful section. I can’t wait for more finished trail. We went from Washington Park to Adair Park with a stop at Angel’s house which is amazingly located and coming along nicely. Now I need a foot rub.

Atlanta represented in XKCD’s well-researched map of North American subway systems.

It’s completely hand drawn. I pre-ordered the poster.

Rode my bike up the BeltLine to Piedmont Park and had lunch at Willy’s. The weather today is just fantastic for riding. Good breeze. Finally took a look at the park expansion and “Legacy Fountain” (which is a funny name to a geek like me). Bumped into some friends heading back down the BeltLine. 13.6mi ride/walk in all. I feel good.

Oh, and I avoided the cluster $&@! Downtown for the Final Four.
